Hello everyone!
Today we are wrapping up our cardiology month with a quick overview and some interesting
facts about the heart. Stay tuned until the end of this blog where we will have some fun trivia
questions!
A quick overview from the past month:
Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals specifically with disorders concerning the heart.
Some common conditions which are diagnosed and treated in this branch of medicine include
congenital heart defects, electrophysiology, and valvular heart disease. We went into detail over
coronary heart disease on our Instagram which is a disease where there’s blockage of the
coronary arteries. Additionally, technology in the medical field is rapidly growing, especially in
cardiology such as artificial intelligence (AI), wearable devices to monitor patients, as well as
virtual/augmented reality that gives healthcare professionals detailed 360-degree images.
Overall, cardiology is a tedious yet wonderful career path to choose because it allows you to
discover exciting insights about the heart, communicate with many people, and enables you to
significantly support the lives of other people.
Now some interesting facts about the heart!
● Did you know that the size of our heart is about the size of an adult’s fist?
