Discovering the Brain: Neurology

Writer's picture: MedinspiritMedinspirit

Hey everyone! We hope this post meets you well. MedInspirit is extremely excited to introduce this month’s profession: Neurology!

Neurology is a branch of medicine that deals specifically with disorders of the nervous system. Some common conditions which are diagnosed and treated in this branch of medicine include Alzheimer’s disease, brain tumors, stroke, epilepsy, bell’s palsy, and dementia.

During this month, we will be providing blogs and more specific information regarding stroke. This disease occurs due to the clotting, blocking, or bursting of a blood vessel carrying oxygen and nutrients to the brain. It is extremely common in the United States, with over 200,000 cases per year and is one of the leading causes of death, so we will be releasing several critical pieces of information about this condition.

Be sure to check our website and Instagram regularly because we have exciting events coming up such as medical news/technology breakthrough articles, an interview with a neurologist, posts with advice about how to become involved in Cardiology (opportunities, course suggestions, etc.), and more! In addition, we have an exciting webinar coming up for children in elementary and middle school interested in learning about the brain, and you can reach out to us to either register to become a student or a volunteer. The month will close off with engaging trivia activities and audience interaction to test yourself on how much knowledge you gained in the past month.

Below are a few links to fascinating videos about the life of a neurologist and other introductions about Neurologyy. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any questions!

Stay safe,
